What I Cannot Do

I cannot dictate the tone of your life,

Or the weather of your soul,

I cannot rush your sentiments,

Or want to keep your heart under control,

I cannot win your battles or erase your pain,

I cannot be your wings of strength,

Or carry the burden of your fears.

Only you can find the way,

And walk the road amongst rainy days,

Only you can bring out the sun,

And allow your chains to become undone.
