Under The Reverent Sky

I have never endured a storm like this,

Where my eyes are blind, and my heart is adrift,

The silent notes of pain ring endlessly in my ear,

As my thoughts ignore the noble quest for peace,

Giving way to uncertainty,

Carving in stone what I cannot be.

Hope fights a losing battle against my soul,

Igniting a sadness, I cannot control,

Will it ever return and set me free?

Can my restless dreams untie my fears?

Poised in darkness and despair,

I am at a crossroads of all that I can bear,

Only time can declare my imminent fate,

In slow motion, I await,

So it shall be,

Bound under the reverent sky.
