The Solitude of My Dying Heart

Today my dreams have vanished,

They have resigned to the noise of life,
Wasted and silently drawn,
Amongst the withering storms.

The solitude of my dying heart
Relates to my past mistakes,
Like a shot in the dark,
Narrowly escaping my thoughts,
The emptiness and scars.

I have reason to believe in who I am,
Even though I’m broken,
I can still see myself
From afar.

The sound of my essence
Lingers on, like a singing bird,
Speaking truths that lay bare
All of the honesty I have shared.

I tell my dying heart
To not give up,
For the darkness will disperse one day,
And my pain will end.
