The Keeper Of A Lonely Heart

I walk the streets alone,

Beneath the midnight sun,

Amongst the paths

Of golden leaves,

Whispering to the wind,

Inviting the magic of stars.

I want to bring peace

To my restless days,

And turn the tides,

So that I may dance

Once again,

With happiness.

Lonely is my heart,

For it has been broken,

And set apart

From joy and trust,

Hope has ignored

My wandering mind,

And given me pain,

When my soul

Wished to die,

Lonely are the petals

Of a fallen flower,

Lonely is the tree,

With a thousand secrets,

Lonely is the rain

When it cannot cry,

Lonely are my fragile,

Heart and mind.

I walk along the river of dreams,

Wishing to ask,

For a life yet to live,

Can it answer my questions,

Or will it shatter my being?

All I see is a fire of doubt,

That drowns in the water,

Surrendering to the unknown,

Amidst the lonely space and time.
