The Essence of Us

There is a world that calls upon our hearts,

Unseen and living in silence,

It can feel the warmth

Of the light amongst the dark,

Yearning to overcome,

As sadness reigns and tears abandon hope,

Loneliness drives people apart,

The skies turn grey,

And the emptiness forsakes all trust,

At that moment,

When the pain lingers on,

And suffocates your thoughts

With feelings of loss,

Remember the essence of us,

Where love is strong

And our passion remains untouched.

There is a world that calls upon our hearts,

And invites the simple things to shine,

It is where our spirit reminds us,

Of the beauty created

In the meadows of our minds,

Where souls are defined,

And wishful dreams can never die.
