The Cartography of Memories

If memories were to taint my mind

And scatter the earth of my soul

With visions devine,

Let it be so,

Until the end of time.

The cartography of memories

Allows me to revisit

The story of my life,

Dancing in stages

Between the good and the bad,

Inviting me to witness

Every moment of my desolate past.

If time stood still, where would I be?

Trapped within the absence of everything.

I want to remember all that I am,

The faces and places

That helped me become a man.

I walk through this life

Inviting the days to shine their light,

Amongst the pebble streets

That hold the secrets of time.

I hope my memories never fade,

And if they do,

I pray they leave an imprint on my heart,

A silent echo of all I’ve been,

A testament of who I am.
