Solitaire
The sunset is calling my name,
Allowing me to gasp at its beauty,
The warm breeze caresses my skin,
While birds in flight sing to me.
The sea waves are like art in motion,
Inviting dreams to share my devotion,
The sky draws in a hue of red,
As the canvas of life,
Has undoubtedly been set.
The streets pervaded with faces,
They pass me by in familiar places,
Each one tells a story of a life once lived,
Their voices relate to happiness and pain,
While the interlude of hope
It plays in harmony once again.
I watch people holding hands,
Running by on golden sands,
Embracing the moment,
Creating memories, telling stories,
Being adorned over time.
Solitude is here with me,
Loyal and still,
Living by my side,
Faithfull through every path,
It declares my truth alone,
Upon the fields of loneliness.
My heart is open and forgiving,
I notice every moment,
All there is to see,
The world is a theatre,
A volatile stage,
Filled with the chaos
Of wanting more than we can take.
I have restored my faith,
And berried my mistakes,
My soul now dances with humanity,
In a strong but vulnerable state.
I am imperfect. I do know,
This is real and beyond my control,
As I gently close my eyes,
I realise that I am free to be me,
That solitude is not a place to hide,
It is my home, my solitaire,
My peace of mind.
