Secrets and Shadows

The midnight sun

Shines through my window,

As I lay in bed,

Trying to make sense of it all.

There are secrets

That I cannot tell,

An inner termoil

That I know too well.

The shadows of past

Visit my mind,

Reminding me

Of failed oportunities

And broken dreams.

How can I escape a reality

So close to my heart,

That pulls at the strings

Of my soul.

As the seasons pass,

I am destined to question

The mere idea of my existence,

For I am an imperfect being,

That glides at the core

Of a broken society.

Today I will look at my reflection

And gaze at the landscape

Of my emotions,

I hope that life will be kind to me.
