A poem for Michelle

Let me breathe a coloured life,

Embrace the sea and paint the night,

I want to abandon all chores,

Rescue myself from this steadfast routine.

Allow me to address my mistakes,

While the longing for truth sets me to rest,

Amidst the dark pathways of regret,

My quiet place begins with change.

The future stares with bewildering eyes,

Ready to contend between emotions past,

It tares down the walls of confusion,

Leaving all but love as an illusion.

Take me to the garden of joy

Where tears are heaven sent,

Maybe there is a place for me

To rest my tired soul,

To breathe the air so pure.
