My Hollow Heart

A hollow heart is not a broken one,

Neither is it empty,

It is a heart that has been taken,

Away from the soul,

Misplaced and intensely alone.

A hollow heart has no place to rest,

No voice can reach the painful depths,

It is a heart that has been ripped apart,

More than it could bear,

Yet it is a heart that won’t give up,

While it refuses to hate or despair.

A hollow heart wants to be strong again,

Able to feel joy again,

Breathe the air of love once more,

As it slowly heals between arrows of hope.
