Midnight Sun

I have walked without direction,

And spoken without conviction,

I have cried tears of pain,

And experienced joy beneath the rain,

I have loved without limitations,

And endured loneliness

Without purpose,

I have listened to the unfair voices,

And lived through injustice,

I have laid bare my broken heart,

And silenced the anguish in the dark,

I have caressed the essence of trust,

And held my truth without doubt,

In this world that I call home,

The midnight sun,

Has always been

My loyal company,

Amongst the storms

Of this tainted life,

Throughout the days,

In which my soul would die,

It has given me warmth,

And held me close,

In the dead of night.
