John Lennon and Yoko Ono were soulmates. Their love was so intense and commited, it was almost cosmic. Their love story wasn’t smooth and simple, but rather a loud, weird and wonderful one. They were insperable and unapologetic, which is what you would expect from two artists who always believed in breaking the rules. Their romance flourished during a time of artistic freedom and innovation, giving way to a vulnrable, yet deep human expereince.
By the time John met Yoko, he was already a famous Beatle. A witty and sharp young boy from Liverpool with a love for music like no other. His up bringing was far from easy, and he used music as a form of escapism and comfort. Yoko was a Japanese avant garde artist, a fierce visionary who questioned everything and defied the status quo. She challenged the world and gave in to nothing. She was a hippie warrior, redifining art.
John and Yoko met in one of yokos art exhibits in London. It was 1966 and the city was filled with momentum and beauty. Yoko didn’t know all that much about The Beatles, and John didnt know quite what to make of a woman that took off her clothes as a statement of vulnerability.
