If Love Could Bring You Back

If love could bring you back,

My heart would abandon fear,

And cast aside

The anguish in my soul.

If love could bring you back,

I would call to the heavens,

Inviting angels to sing your name,

Amid the vast blue skies,

I would cry tears of joy,

That would reign

For a thousand nights,

As the hours of the day,

Turn the restless tide,

And my sombre life,

Burns from black to bright.

If love could bring you back,

I would give up my world

To see your smile,

And hold you in my arms

Once more,

It would seem like a dream,

Beyond the paths of time.

If love could bring you back,

My life would begin again,

The pain would cease to be,

Upon the sunrise of your eyes

I would feel at peace,

Indefinitely.

You are the reason that I am,

The meaning of my existence,

My world is alive with your love,

All that is and will become.

If I could bring you back,

I would renounce myself

To the darkest avenues,

So that you could see the light,

And forever exist,

In the corridors of my mind.
