For One Last Moment

Picture by Zohre Nemati on Unsplash

For one last moment

My hands caressed your sunken face,

Trembling in silence, I felt so alone,

The colour of your stars faded away,

As the evening sun voiced me to stay.

Your eyes showed me clear skies,

Your mouth uttered every meaningful word,

Your mind addressed my latent sorrows,

Your heart was my only world.

The wreckage of my life shatters

Falling into meaningless ambiguity,

Slowly bleeding desolate words

As the night kindles the moon,

When will I hear your laughter again?

The undisguised beauty of your soul,

Please compel time to turn back the clocks,

Say it is urgent, love cannot wait,

Please take me back to the light in your eyes,

For now, the quietude of darkness takes my hand.
