A Lonely Child

There is a silence

Gasping at the lonely streets,

Where my heart lays torn,

Between the sky and pebble stones.

I am a lonely child,

Who learnt the meaning of love,

In the arms of ancient trees,

From the beauty of a flower,

In the midst of spring.

My soul has witnessed

The art of life,

And the very essence

Of being alive.

I come from the story of the earth,

Through pain and sorrow,

I have learnt,

That loneliness is a state of mind,

Not of heart.

My tears have shed like rain drops

On fields of gold,

And at times,

I have danced with melancholy

For far too long.

As I grow old,

I want to feel the beauty of love,

In everything and everyone,

Through the magic of time,

I want to epress every thought,

Abandoning my fears.

I am a lonely child,

I must say,

And this has been my fate.
