A Heart of Gold and a Broken Soul

Being strong against the obstacles of life is both a gift and a curse. Having the courage to stand up against adversity and search for the positives in negative situations can become exhausting. I believe in the power of kindness, the simple act of giving and listening to the most vulnerable. Some people deal with problems better than others. They can think logically and practically. Others drive themselves by emotions and get carried away by the dramatic effect of everything. Let’s face it; everyone finds it challenging to be an adult. Many of us suffer from anxiety; our culture questions the very essence of our existence, and in turn, puts unnecessary pressure on our minds.

Being good can sometimes not be good enough, and being strong can even be judged. There are times when you go out of your way to help others, but this gives the impression of being overbearing. You can have a heart of gold yet still carry a broken soul. Being strong means, people will lean on you and trust you. No one asks strong people how they feel. They assume they are always okay. Nobody bothers to consider their emotions because everyone thinks that strong people are unbreakable and mentally stable.

Strong people are vulnerable too, and they suffer as much as fragile hearts do. The difference is they don’t show it. They don’t like being a burden or making others worry; it is not in their nature to be dependable. They put the needs of others first, even if it means giving up their emotional well being. If no one asks, how will they ever know how strong people feel? Be compassionate to those that take care of you when everyone else has other plans. They are incredible humans.
