A Forsaken Childhood

The burdens of life bathe my soul,

With a cruel destiny,

I cannot control,

The days and months feel endless,

When skies are darkened

And the streets cry in agony.

My childhood has been forsaken,

Torn away by pain and misery,

Loneliness has been my friend,

The only companion that is safe

To me.

I have walked alone

Without a destination,

Never finding a home,

Always fighting for attention,

My heart is frozen with fear,

And love has forgotten

To call my name.

My childhood has been forsaken,

Amongst the careless humans

That should have cared,

They turned a blind eye

To my situation.

They said I would be allright,

That my life was precious,

And wounds could heal

Overnight,

But they were wrong,
